Exam Tension?

I have my exams going on right now and as a matter of fact, I know that this is my moment of truth. To prove others and myself that I have improved. I know one thing for sure, I understand better in class. Trust me, that is very important. I mean you can always mug things up, so did I till probably last year or so. What's the point though, cause, today when you ask me about it, I remember none of it. However, I do remember things that I tried to understand last year. To be honest, during the exam you might just panic and forget everything you memorized, but once you understand it, you will be able to come up with content on spot. Which one sounds better to you? I for one prefer the second option.
I know its very hard to focus on studies but when you put all distractions aside it really helps. Just leave aside your phone and TV time. Study for at least 2 hours and you will be good to go if you understand and pay complete attention. Then again, I get it, some people have problems doing this. I never found it easy myself, until now.
That is why I do have a few tips:
- First set a goal of which subject you want to finish and which topic. This will help you feel like you don't have loads of work to do.
- Prepare your mindset, tell yourself that you are going to be studying for this long with zero distractions. By doing this you will feel more prepared.
- If you are tired soon give yourself a 5 minutes break and get back to work. Try not to take your phone though, cause you will definitely lose yourself in it. Just close your eyes or go for a short stroll.
- Reward yourself. Tell yourself that if you finish the goal then you will definitely have a small treat or get to do your favorite thing. This will motivate you and make you wanna get it done.
- Keep some drink on your table like green tea, water or juice. It will keep you hydrated and fresh.
- Sometimes waking up in the morning and studying can help you remember better. I mean it depends, some people prefer staying up and studying. However, get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep, your mind needs rest.
- Explain what you have learned to yourself or someone else. You will have a clear understanding and remember better.
